Books

Last night I finished reading Eragon by Christopher Paolini. This was one of my Christmas presents, at least I think it was mine, I hadn't even got the wrapping off before the 8yo said "Can I read that after you Mum?". I must admit when I started it I didn't think I was going to like it. The writing style seemed very stilted and most sentences were only a line long! I found myself irritated but after a few chapters either the author got into his stride, I got used to it or the story took over so that I didn't notice. The upshot is I REALLY enjoyed it and will now have to buy the sequel, Eldest.

Hubby went to the library with the lad, as usual on Saturday and brought home a book for me - Dr Jackson's Phoshop Cosmetic Surgery! I'm not sure what he was trying to tell me but you may never see me the same again!

Is it wrong to share your child's library books? Having finished Eragon I've now picked up The Supernaturalist by Eoin Colfer and I'm looking forward to him collecting the Artemis Fowl book that he's reserved. The boy has good taste in books.
