Music Lessons
Today we drove 240km so I could have a music lesson. Seems a little extreme when put like that but I felt it was well worthwhile. My trio's old teacher (who isn't actually old at all) was up in Hamilton for a few days so we drove down to meet her for a lesson. We had 3.5hrs of tuition which was really good and inspiring and has given us lots to work with. It's been 7 years since I last saw her and she hasn't changed much.
The boys came with me and spent the day at Hamilton Zoo where they had a lot of fun and I believe took lots of photos - hopefully scrapping fodder, though I'm told the light was "funny".
Speaking of scrapping the results for the DET contest at DSP was announced this weekend. I didn't make the team but apparently it was a close thing and two of us were made Guest Elite Members (GEMs) and get to be on the team for 2 months each. That was a nice surprise, they could just as easily have said "tough luck not good enough". I get to play in December & January.
