LOTD @ DSP

I was on a bit of a roll last night and finished three layouts. This one which started life with the intention of being a heritage LO morphed into something completely different and this morning I find has been picked as Layout of the Day on the DSP blog.

journalling:
There is a limit to the number of dreadful photos a girl can be subjected to on Christmas Day before primitive instincts kick in and a little animosity towards the photographer results.

This next LO is of my favourite gift. My son completely surprised me with a gift that he'd made and paid for all by himself. I was reduced to a blithering mess of tears. It was, apparently, entirely his own idea to make me a necklace. It also explained why when asked if he was going to buy Daddy a gift for Christmas he said "he can have my love" - what he wasn't telling me was that he'd already spent his money. There was no single good photo so I decided to use a sequence of pictures to capture the event.

I just had to capture what I considered the Christmas quote of the year with this next layout. Ah the innocence of children. The adults were in hysterics.

journaling:
Ashley (age 8) was telling Janet about the sewing machine she had received for Christmas.
J: Can you run me up a little number on your sewing machine?
A: I don’t think I can make anything that big.

All in all Christmas was pretty good this year. Everyone received wonderful presents from Santa, there weren't too many arguments at the family celebration though there were a few sore heads the next morning! (not me of course)
