Brilliant Books

A couple of really quick reads this week, 48 hours or less each which just goes to show how engrossed I was in them.

17. Chasing Fire by Suzanne Collins*****
This is the sequel to The Hunger Games and is just as action packed and gripping. Without giving too much away lets say the Capitol is really angry with Katniss and they are twisting things round, including the rules, to make her pay for her defiance in the games arena. The final part of the trilogy is due to be released in August this year and I can't wait.

18. Tomorrow, when the war began by John Marsden*****
The first of the Tomorrow Series of books, this one has recently been released as a movie which I haven't seen. I saw the preview earlier in the year and thought it looked interesting. Ds remarked the book is never in the library, we had a long wait on the reserve list for it. It was well worth the wait. Set in Australia, a group of teenagers head off to camp for a week only to return to find their homes abandoned and in disarray. Their worst fears are confirmed when they discover their rural town has been invaded by an unknown enemy. The book is about discovery. Discovering what has happened to their families as well as their own inner depths. From what I can work out there appear to be 7 books in this series and 3 more in a post-war series about the main character. We have book 2 reserved. :)
