This alternative history picked up immediately where Leviathan ended, no messing around or annoying preamble. I enjoyed this book much more than I remember enjoying Leviathan, there was plenty of action and adventure as well as the introduction of some intriguing new creatures, machines and characters. I'm looking forward to the final instalment.
